As you will see Guthrie Castle is situated on the east coast of Scotland about halfway between Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

For those of you SatNav our post code is : DD8 2TP.  The nearest international airports are Edinburgh and Aberdeen, both about 80 minutes drive, whilst Glasgow is about 100 minutes.

Dundee, which is only 30 minutes from the Castle, has a regional airport that has flights direct from London City and many other smaller airports.  The nearest railway station is Arbroath – about 15 minutes from the Castle.

Once in Dundee you have a choice of coming to the Castle via either Arbroath or Forfar (Guthrie is equidistant from both).

Via Arbroath from Dundee

If coming via Arbroath, as you enter the town turn left at McDonalds on the West Way following the signs for “RM Condor” / Brechin.

About 9 mile out of Arbroath you will come to a staggered cross roads, Friockheim to the right and Forfar to the left – take the left turn to Forfar.

You will pass a small garage on the right before coming to a sign for Guthrie pointing right.  Pass this sign and continue along the road, you will then see the signs for Guthrie Castle on the right, the main entrance gates are on the right hand side.

Via Forfar from Dundee or Aberdeen

If coming via Forfar drive right through the town following the signs for A932 to Arbroath.

About 10 miles out of town after passing a right turn to Letham, and a series of tight bends at Mildens you will see a large white house on the right – the main castle entrance is on the left opposite this house, please be aware you will have to slow down when spotting the white house to turn into the entrance as it is not signposted beforehand.

We wish you a safe journey!
