We just wanted to write and thank all of the Guthrie Castle Staff (and the catering staff) for doing such a brilliant job. Our wedding day surpassed our high expectations and everything went so smoothly and it was just great fun and such a happy day! Thanks also go to Pamela for all her help and support over the last 2 years with all the wedding preparations – we couldn’t have done it without her!
Our family and friends are still talking about our wedding weekend and many of them say it has been the best wedding that they have ever been to, and what a stunning venue! Our photographer also commented that she was impressed with how we had decorated the Pavilion and thought that was the best she had ever seen it look! We had selected suppliers from your list of recommendations – and we were not disappointed – the flowers, cake, venue dressing, coaches, pipers, toastmaster etc. were all of an exceptionally high standard and we would certainly recommend them for other weddings. Jonathan had a few initial reservations about the Ceilidh – however it was wonderful - the dance floor was always busy and many of our guests were enjoying their first experience of Scottish country dancing in kilts!!!
With hindsight, we were also pleased that we had booked the weekend package as it helped to take a lot of the stress out of the wedding day itself. The only thing we could not control was the weather, but fortunately after a showery morning, we were lucky (thanks to our Minister “having a word”) and it remained dry for our wedding ceremony in the walled garden and the subsequent 2-hour photo session. The stunning and immaculately groomed grounds of Guthrie Castle looked amazing in our professional photos – creating a truly romantic and fairytale wedding!
Overall, it was an absolutely wonderful weekend! Thanks again to you all and we wish you the best of luck with the nominations for the VOWS Award – you deserve it!
Looking to the future, I certainly hope that my husband will be booking Guthrie Castle (and not the village hall) for our 10-year wedding anniversary party - as I already have a long list of guests who would like to attend!!!!!
